This page brings together a selection of resources to support school leaders and teachers in planning for Teacher-only Days in Term 1, 2026 for Years 0–10. You’ll find tools and materials aligned with both the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa. These supports are designed to enable professional learning, conversations and planning.

Updated curriculum content for Years 0–10 English, Te Reo Rangatira, Mathematics and Statistics, and Pāngarau  

This page provides the final curriculum content for Years 0–10 English, Te Reo Rangatira, Mathematics and Statistics, and Pāngarau including downloadable info sheets that explain the structure of each learning area, key changes and guidance for implementation. It also includes planning tools, examples and links to professional learning supports to help teachers integrate the refreshed curriculum into classroom practice: Updated curriculum content.

Professional Learning Development (PLD) opportunities 

The Ministry of Education is working closely with schools to ensure leaders and teachers have the support they need to confidently implement curriculum changes for 2026. Professional learning for Years 7–8 teachers in structured literacy approaches and mathematics and statistics is available now, with PLD for Years 9–10 English and Mathematics and Statistics starting in Term 1, 2026. New resources include alignment guides for existing maths materials and a digital maths learning platform for Years 9–10. Additional PLD and resources delivered through workshops, webinars, and online materials will continue to help schools embed the refreshed curriculum and sustain change over time.

Curriculum Roadshow for Leaders 2025

This pack provides practical tools and templates to help leaders plan and implement curriculum changes. It includes implementation supports, updated content release information and guides for understanding the knowledge-rich curriculum. Leadership resources cover communication plans, conversation starters, implementation checklists and strategies for overcoming resistance. You’ll also find example annual and unit plans for science, a roadmap for change and activities to engage your team:

Draft Curriculum for Years 0–10 

This page provides draft versions of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum learning areas for Years 0–10. It includes downloadable info sheets outlining the structure of each learning area, key shifts in content and guidance for planning and teaching.
