Consultation has now closed on this draft content for the Phase 5 (Year 11–13) Technology learning area. Draft content will continue to be available for familiarisation. The current Year 11–13 Technology learning area remains in effect until the staged implementation of the new curriculum from 2028, you can still find the current New Zealand Curriculum Phase 5 content here.
Technology
Across Technology | Hangarau subjects for Years 11–13 students develop advanced, integrated knowledge across digital, design, and technological disciplines, learning how to design, develop, test, and evaluate solutions across contexts. They engage with computational thinking, engineering systems, materials, and food or media processes. Across all pathways, students learn to think critically, innovate responsibly, and respond to tangible situation using sustainable and ethical approaches.
