New School Journal, Junior Journal, and CHAPTERS books out now

The next issues of the School Journal, Junior Journal, and CHAPTERS are on their way! Physical copies of the books have been sent straight to schools and kura using The New Zealand Curriculum, and the online versions are available now at the links below.
The journals contain a variety of engaging stories, articles, plays, and poems to support students’ reading development. The content is aligned to The New Zealand Curriculum, and designed to reflect the lives of students in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Each journal has a central theme to explore, like taking action (at Level 2),te Taiao/the environment (at Level 3) and identity (at Level 4). The theme for Junior Journal 67 is the night sky, and this latest CHAPTERS story is a mystery that includes fantasy elements.
We’re currently updating the teacher support materials (TSMs) that come with the journals so that they embody structured approaches to literacy learning. The resource pages for each journal will be updated with the TSMs as soon as they are ready.
